Scuba Diving
Pictures from Whytecliff Park
in Vancouver, B.C. Canada These are medium quality jpegs. But I have the RAW images as well. Email tjfidler@telus.net Directions to this dive site can be found at the bottom of this page. Type of dive: shore dive Rating for this dive site: 7/10 as the entry can be hard on the ankles, surprised the divers have not cleared a decent path into the water Parking: 9/10 as lots of parking Bathroom/Washroom/Toilet: Yes, and also a coffee shop, but it is not always open. Boat ramp: none Ease of entry: 8/10 [Wheel chair access: might have ramp but ankle breakers in water are annoying] Abundance of life: 6/10 Accommodations: There are several places in North Vancouver, or even Horseshoe Bay, that you could find lodging at. Inns, Motels and Campgrounds. Attractions: lots of depth, and facilities Bottom and depth: Facilities: outdoor coffee shop, washrooms, change rooms, shower for swimmers and divers Hazards/Obstacles: current can pull you down, and the water quality is often poor in the top 30 feet [ten metres] Sensitivity to tide/current: Terrain: rocky shore with lots of ankle breakers, solid rock walls along sides, and sandy bottom further out Miscellaneous Information: If you are coming to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics, this dive site is near the ferry terminal in Horseshoe Bay, and on the way to Whistler, the main downhill ski resort, where many of the olympic events will be held.
